The Problem With Copyright Lasting An Author’s Lifetime…
Random thought about copyright lasting as long as an author lives: the problem is that medical science may figure out a way to keep an author’s body alive indefinitely. For example, Henrietta Lacks lives “forever” in a way — as an immortal line of cancer cells called HeLa cells. Okay, her body isn’t alive, (and HeLa cells are arguably a different species from human cells) but if copyright is made dependent on the lifespan of an author — there will undoubtedly be scientific efforts to keep Walt Disney’s frozen head alive (a la Futurama)….
