Random Thought #(insert random number here)
The topic of aging seems to come up more and more… as you get older (for obvious reasons). I once heard that humans can be considered (in an evolutionary viewpoint) immature primates because other primates have another stage of growth that we humans just don’t go through. I actually have no idea if that’s really true, but it got me to thinking.. What would happen if there was a drug/treatment/etc that prevented the onset of human puberty? If you took it, you’d basically just become an ever more cynical 10 year old. (Perhaps that Benjamin Button movie planted part of this thought in me, too…) Would kids take it? What would the new “age of consent” be? Sounds like a good short story topic… or another movie plot idea for Spielberg.
