Synthetic life forms are really interesting, and it looks like more researchers are looking into alternative forms of biochemistry. Instead of RNA or DNA, there might be other kinds of polymer chains that could become the foundations of life or biochemical reactions. I’ve been wondering if there are other pathways to synthetic life… starting with existing lving cells — can cells be gradually modified beyond “natural” so that a “living” reaction can be maintained which is also recognizable as man-made…?
