No More Version Numbers for HTML?!?!!!
I wonder if anyone has studied the effect of “naming” software versions. Everyone knows that you don’t want Software1.0 — or any version number that ends in a zero. So if you start naming your operating systems after large cats (eg. Tiger, Leopard, Panther….), does it actually have any effect on your software? Or just on how people perceive your software? If you eliminate version numbers completely… do people care?
